History & Background
Regional Passport Office, Cox's Bazar is part of the nationwide service network of the Department of Immigration and Passports under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Bangladesh began issuing passports after independence under the Bangladesh Passport Order, 1973. Machine Readable Passport services began in 2010, and e-passport service was inaugurated nationally on 22 January 2020, expanding modern biometric passport service through divisional and regional offices.
