History & Background
Opened in the early 1960s on Minto Road in the heart of Dhaka, this property holds the distinction of being Bangladesh's first internationally branded five-star hotel, operating for decades as the Dhaka Sheraton before being renamed Hotel Ruposhi Bangla under government ownership and later rebranded again under international management. Its 272 rooms, outdoor pool, and wellness facilities with a steam room, jacuzzi, and sauna have hosted heads of state and remain a Dhaka landmark.
