History & Background
Varendra Resort occupies a roughly 21-acre mango orchard at Shitlai village near Kashiadanga on the outskirts of Rajshahi city, in Paba Upazila. Built in the style of an affluent village farmhouse and enclosed by a high boundary wall for privacy, it was developed as one of the region's early eco-resorts offering visitors a rural Bengal retreat with modern comforts. The property is centred on its orchard and an adjoining lake, giving it the local nickname "Shitlai bagan bari" (the Shitlai garden house).
