Meherpur

Meherpur is a western border district of Khulna Division known for agriculture and its special place in the history of Bangladesh's Liberation War. Meherpur town is the district headquarters and an important administrative center near the border.

Meherpur is especially notable for Mujibnagar, where the provisional government of Bangladesh was formed during the Liberation War. Beyond that, it has a long agrarian and borderland history.
