Shah Amanat Bridge, also known as the Third Karnaphuli Bridge or New Bridge, opened on 8 September 2010. It was the first major extradosed bridge in Bangladesh and helped improve connectivity between Chattogram city, the southern parts of the district, Cox's Bazar, and Bandarban.
