Patuakhali

Patuakhali is a coastal district of Barishal Division known for Kuakata gateway access, rivers, chars, agriculture, fisheries, and a strong connection to the Bay of Bengal. Patuakhali town is the district headquarters and the main administrative center.

Patuakhali grew from the older Bakerganj region and later became an important coastal district shaped by river routes, agricultural expansion, and settlement in newly emerged delta lands.

Location: south-central coastal Bangladesh adjoining the Bay of Bengal. Rivers, tidal channels, chars, low-lying plains, and sea-facing landscapes dominate the district.
